What will you do?

In this role, you will drive revenue and growth for the Construction Industries aftermarket services business for Caterpillar dealers in Japan. You’ll communicate targets and follow established sales processes focused on the end customer. You will also provide leadership, guidance, and counsel to optimize dealer sales through process improvements, in addition to leveraging opportunity management systems and processes to Caterpillar’s benefit, while recognizing and respecting the independence of the dealer.
  • Travel up to 50% of the time
  • Drive aftermarket services sales with assigned dealer's territory
  • Develop and implement aftermarket services industry account plans for customer accounts in collaboration with assigned dealer's territory.
  • Track opportunity, participation and close rates and report in the CRM system; Adopt and be an advocate for sales funnel management methods
  • Develop local action plans, leveraging CRM and customer insights, to grow services
  • Increase dealer closure rate for parts & service sales opportunities, leveraging marketing campaigns to maximize sales result
  • Conduct regular sales performance reviews with dealers and ensure implementation of corrective actions where needed
  • Champion and influence change related to Caterpillar parts & service support strategies, products, and services
  • Partner with & influence internal parties to ensure general customer needs are met for an effective relationship
  • Train dealers on strategy, discussing sales funnel and identifying ways to improve results

How You’ll be Successful (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3-5+ years of progressively responsible job-related experience in the areas of Aftermarket Sales or Marketing, Product Support/Technical Support/Prime Product Sales
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time

Additional Skills for Success (Desired Qualifications)
  • Professional experience including field assignments working directly with construction dealers, OEM dealers or heavy equipment dealers
  • Experience in sales execution and budget management
  • Understanding of aftermarket parts and services offerings
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively based on the audience
  • Strong ability to engage with all levels of an organization to motivate and enable change
  • Can-do attitude and customer focused mindset
  • Ability to manage and resolve conflict and work collaboratively
  • Strong time management and organization skills
  • Knowledge or understanding of Caterpillar’s Construction Industries product applications, sales and operational processes

  • Location: Yokohama, Japan
  • This role travels frequently (up to 50%) to dealers and customers
