Summary:
IT CORE Services provides critical IT services to the entire BMS Enterprise, including Cybersecurity, Access, Networking, Hosting, Support Services, Tech Adoption and Productivity services to name a few. This role is in the Portfolio Delivery team in IT CORE Services responsible for Portfolio Delivery which includes both project management and operational budget management. The Sr. Project Manager role will report to the PMO Lead for IT CORE Services and work with multiple Portfolio Delivery Leads across the IT CORE Services team to deliver IT projects/programs, based on business priorities, following BMS project management processes. In addition to project management, the role will assist on an as need basis, with tracking and reporting of the operational spend for the assigned IT CORE services tower.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Holistic project/program monitoring, controls, team integration, change integration, dependency management and corrective action as needed. Ensure the application of Project Management best practices and company SDLC standards in managing the project as appropriate.
  • Build effective relationships with key stakeholders across the organization to lead to better alignment and faster delivery.
  • Partner with Portfolio Governance to help facilitate the collection of IT demand and process them following BMS portfolio intake process, collection, rationalization, budgeting, and prioritization.
  • Provide leadership and/or oversight to multiple small projects, two/three larger projects or one complex program.
  • Provide a point of escalation for all constituents of the project/program.
  • Guide teams/resources to focus on the activities of highest priority to advance organizational objectives.
  • Maintain adequate domain knowledge of the business objectives to ensure maximum value realization.
  • Ensure appropriate level of communications and reporting to meet a variety of stakeholder and management needs.
  • Interact with other program/project leads to ensure consistent processes and high-quality reporting.
  • Engage and energize the program teams to ensure optimal performance and proactively remove obstacles to drive project/program momentum and progress.
  • Proactively manage risks and maintain optimal performance throughout.
  • Meet financial objectives by forecasting cost plans; contributing to the preparation of the portfolio budget and maintaining accurate and timely financial updates.
  • Advise and consistently apply IT best practices (including Agile, SDLC, PMF) and contribute to continuous improvement in close partnership with all BMS PMO organization.
  • Contribute to overall maturity and consistency of the PM organization by serving as an SME on leadership, program and project management, stakeholder engagement, scope definition, risk identification/mitigation etc.
  • Assist in the management of the overall book of work for assigned area.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SDLC methodologies, and various implementation approaches including waterfall and Agile.
  • Ability to lead and influence without direct authority, managing stakeholder expectations at all levels in a matrixed global organization.
  • Experience leveraging diverse perspectives to ensure robust discussions and solutions.
  • Demonstrated history of success working with minimal supervision, managing multiple small projects and up to a large, complex program.
  • Comfort delivering sound reasoning, and strong recommendations in an environment with ambiguity to bring closure and execute on complex solutions.
  • Experience working with service providers, vendors and other third party contracting to maintain accountability for expected deliverables.
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate and collaborate with employees and management at all levels
  • Strong facilitation and meeting management skills; Strong communicator via all media: collaboration technologies (SharePoint, Skype, etc.) and presentations written, emails, verbal with a wide variety of audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to use structured problem solving and available tools to quickly evaluate problems, identify root causes, create action plans, assess impact and develop resolution options
  • Bachelor’s degree and 6-8 years of project or program management experience.
  • PMP certification, ServiceNow experience and familiarity with accounting principles a plus.
