Then the position as GDPR Specialist at Clio might be just what you are looking for.
As GDPR Specialist at Clio you will become part of our Finance department where you will be reporting directly to our CFO and working closely with our Digital Rights Specialist. The department is characterized by an informal atmosphere and consists of outgoing and highly competent people who are champions of each their area of expertise while mastering the art of teamwork.
On an everyday basis you will be the GDPR face of Clio while being responsible for communicating with clients and suppliers as well as our Tech and Commercial departments regarding GDPR issues to ensure a high level of compliance. However, as our GDPR Specialist you will be the primary go-to person for all GDPR matters in Clio - internally & externally - for Denmark and Sweden. This also means that you will be advising and guiding all levels of the business on GDPR matters – from first line employees to our CEO. In other words, this position requires the ability to navigate complexity.
Furthermore, your responsibilities will include the following:
- Drive the yearly GDPR audit and certification processes
- Drive further development of Clio’s GDPR compliance levels as regulations change
- Host all internal training on GDPR & Digital Rights
- Negotiate and monitor Data Processing Agreements with clients and suppliers
- Coordinate with external counsel on other legal matters
- Assist in Clio’s work with data ethics in relation to AI and Machine Learning
While being open to your academic background, we imagine that you hold a master’s degree within Law (cand.jur.), Business Administration and Law (cand.merc.jur) or IT and Business Administration. Furthermore, you might possess 1-3 years of experience within the field, but most importantly you are able to apply privacy law while understanding the need for practical solutions.
Additional requirements include:
- Solid knowledge of GDPR and e-Privacy. Relevant certifications, such as CIPP/E and CIPM, are considered an advantage, but not a requirement.
- Understanding of interactions between IT, IT-security, and privacy regulations
- Experience with contract negotiations and dispute resolutions
- Knowledge of Intellectual Property Law is an advantage, but not a requirement
As a person, you can see yourself fit the description of our Finance department, and you are able to navigate in an environment with a high level of autonomy and complexity while being able to explain legal matters in simple terms to colleagues at all levels of the organisation. We expect you to be proactive and solutions-oriented, and to take on a partnering mindset in your interactions with stakeholders. As this position operates at the intersection of Danish, Swedish, European and International Law, we expect you to be fluent in English and highly proficient in Danish (Swedish is an advantage, but not a requirement).
