Become Hardware manager in the Electronics GroupOticon, part of the Demant group, is a large, fast growing company in the medical-technical industry where our 600+ engineers are committed to delivering well-made, high tech solutions for hearing impaired people worldwide. You will join us as Hardware Manager in our R&D Hearing Instrument Electronics group which contains 50+ engineers. Our group is responsible for developing all electronic designs for Demant’s hearing instrument solutions. The Electronics group is part of the Hardware function that develops the complete hearing solution platforms, consisting of both mechanical and electronic parts.
In your new role, you will be leading two teams, with 12 employees in total – one team of highly skilled electronics designers and one team of industry leading PCB layout designers. Your key tasks will be daily guidance, prioritization and inspiration as well as team and individual development.
You will, furthermore, be responsible for the Electronics and PCB competence areas within the Electronics group. Here, you can exert your skills in leading a strategic direction in close collaboration with the technical leads and continuous alignment with both internal and external stakeholders. An essential part of your job will be to drive collaboration across the Demant organization, with universities and suppliers in order to secure that we are ready for tomorrow’s technical challenges.
You will be part of the leadership team for the whole Electronics group. You will be a key contributor in defining and driving the strategic direction for the whole group - We have a constant focus on having an organizational setup to match tomorrow’s needs. You will also participate in short term planning as well as in the execution of some operational tasks.
Your backgroundWe expect you to hold a B.Sc. or M.Sc. within Electronic Engineering or similar. You have relevant experience from within electronic design and manufacturing – preferably from a company within business areas such as medical devices or consumer electronics.
To be successful in your new role, you need to have at least 3-5 years of experience in leading highly specialized and dedicated people. Ideally you have been leading and developing people in “self-managed” setups, as we are practicing agile methods in our group.
You have strong people skills and excellent communication capabilities. It is natural for you to create professional and fruitful relationships inside as well as outside the organization. You know what it takes to win people for your cause and make them follow you. Not because they must, but because they want to.
It is an advantage, if you have been working with strategic and competence development on a larger group level as well. Experience with working according to the agile mindset and methods is a benefit.
