Role Summary:As a Senior Engineer - Power Electronics you will work in a collaborative team environment and will develop advanced power conversion concepts for power generation, aircraft engine systems, healthcare, and electric and hybrid vehicle applications.

development, and transition of technologies from concept to products and/or
services for GE internal and external clients.
- Conduct power electronics
research through modeling simulation, and design of power circuits.
- Implement wide band gap based
power conversion strategies
- Build and test of prototypes
active and passive components.
- Develop test protocols and test
- Innovate in the power electronics
- Effectively communicate results
by preparing written reports and making presentations that describe
analyses and solutions
- Connect the organization to the
latest technology developments and trends in industry
- Contribute to proposals for GE
businesses as well as government agencies
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering
or related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience with a focus in
power electronics or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or related
field with a minimum of 10 years of experience with a focus in power
- Legal authorization to work in
the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals at the Masters

office located in Niskayuna, NY.

- Hands-on hardware experience in
- Working knowledge of wide band
gap semiconductors and gating strategies (SiC and GaN)
- Experience with design and
implementation of magnetics and capacitors for pulsewidth modulated
- Experience in circuit and system
simulation tools such as Saber, PLECS, Matlab/Simulink, PSPICE, EMTP, etc.
- Strong foundation in control
theory and familiarity with DSP and FPGA based controls
- Demonstrated record of
publications and patents
- Connections in industry and

record of completing tasks and deliverables on schedule and on budget
- Excellent written and verbal
communication skills including demonstrated formal writing and
