A vacancy has arisen in our People & Organisation team for a Payroll & Benefits specialist on a one-year fixed term contract, reporting to the UK P&O Director.

The purpose of the role is to assist with planning, organisation and co-ordination of the company’s payroll and benefits function and to provide the business with relevant P&O metrics. This position is based at our office in Gatwick, West Sussex.

The Job

You will work as part of the team who provide support to the UK affiliate of Novo Nordisk, c 350 people based both in the field and onsite in our head office. You will have full autonomy to manage the UK payroll service including reviewing the payroll input, performing the validation of monthly data changes, obtaining sign off and providing confirmation to our payroll service provider. You will be responsible for producing month end payroll reports, auditing and tracking processes; ensuring payment to our employees are accurate, timeline and in line with budgeted figures.

In addition, you will be responsible for assisting with the annual P11d process, monitoring end of year processing and reconciliation, producing ad hoc analysis of payroll date and acting as first level support to all UK employees in relation to payroll queries.

In relation to the benefits aspect of the role you will assist with the administration of the employee Flexible Benefits scheme including annual enrolment activities, employee communications, liaising with third party providers regarding monthly changes to benefit membership. You will be responsible for the administration of our pension scheme; uploading new members, monthly contribution upload and managing leavers.

A further key aspect of this position is the provision of monthly P&O metrics using data provided by our Global Shared Services and SAP HR system for our dashboards. Working closely with the two HR Business Partners it will be your responsibility to ensure that SAP HR is updated with all relevant changes in terms of headcount data.

You will also assist with the administration of the Long Service Award and Ambassador recognition, own and manage the Total Reward pages on the company intranet for the UK, assist with the management of the departmental budget and monthly accruals and assist the Business Information department with monthly reporting on all staff activities as required.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should be educated to graduate level or equivalent. With previous experience in a similar role you must be able to demonstrate an understanding of payroll, tax and HR legislation and process within the UK. Strong IT skills, attention to detail and the ability to work to strict deadlines are essential competencies required to success in this role. Discretion and the ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information is critical in this role, together with a quality focused mindset and analytical approach to your thinking. Numerical ability and data entry skills are essential.
